The Adventist Educational system has operated schools since 1853. Teachers at Shoal Creek are certified through the Adventist system and where possible, through the state of Georgia as well. We place high expectations on our teachers and staff. We encourage both them to continue to be active in improving their natural teaching abilities by participating in continuing education, seminars, memberships in professional organizations and attend workshops provided by both the North American Division, Southern Union and the Conference organization. They are regularly evaluated by the local administration and by the Conference organization. Teachers at Shoal Creek are trained and practice 4MAT and Adventist Edge Instructional Strategies in their classrooms and make presentations and train others in model teaching for the Conference organization on a regular bases. All teachers hold memberships in professional organizations and are encouraged to explore new avenues of improvement.

All teachers have access to the latest technology and regularly share with one another how to use it. Recently projectors and sound systems were installed in each classroom. Staff members have also been called to train fellow teachers in the use of technology in the classroom.

But some things—perhaps those that are most important—just can’t be measured in test scores and college completion rates. Around the world, in more than 6,709 schools and through the inspired efforts of more than 65,679 Adventist teachers, young lives experience critical transformation. It happens in morning worships, in earnest prayers, in community service projects and mission adventures.
